Promote your financial or investment business with a blog

Writing a blog is a good way to build links and to promote other sites within your financial network. It has several advantages over directory submissions and other methods of link building and marketing.

Firstly, you own the blog so can tailor the content to reflect what is on the site you are promoting, thus making the link more relevant and increasing the chances of people visiting your other websites. The content can be factual, informative or more sales biased. The latter content isn’t always accepted by other blogs or article websites.

So for example if your site is about the stock market, set up a stock market blog, or a more general investment blog. The site can cover many topics including stock prices, main movers, popular shares or investment strategies.

Also the blog can be updated as often as you like, giving you the opportunity to increase the number of links to a particular site, or indeed to several sites within your network. Ideally the blog should be updated daily as fresh content helps attract repeat visitors.

Social book-marking sites such as Digg, Reddit and Technorati allow visitors to ‘vote’ for blogs which they regard as a good website by clicking on the icons you place on your blog. Such sites are becoming increasingly popular and can drive a large number of visitors to your business.

The blog makes an ideal source for links to specific pages or topics within your main financial website. This allows the target page to be specifically related to the blog post and it drives customers to the most relevant page on your site thus improving conversion rates amongst your visitors.

You decide where to place the link or banner. The link does not have to be tucked away with several other links at the bottom of the page as may be the case when you purchase advertising.
