Cadbury enjoys sales growth April 12th, 2008
Cadbury Schweppes has reported strong sales growth of 7% for the first quarter of the year. This despite falling market share in the UK following a decision not to aggresively price goods for the Easter market. Easter being early this year also played its part.
The growth was driven by the chewing gum side of the company and also sales in emerging markets. Prices have also increased which has helped offset the rise in commodity prices.
Despite the positive news, Cadbury’s shares down as the remainder of 2008 is expected to be challenging for the company.
