 FTSE stands for Financial Times Stock Exchange. The term is used to describe the main equity market in the UK. The FTSE is actually several weighted average indices that are used to measure the performance of its component stocks. For example the FTSE-100 includes the top 100 companies listed in the UK by market capitalisation.

      The analysis of cash receipts and payments. It is vital for any business to ensure that they have sufficient cash to continue trading. Whilst the company might be profitable, some of the sales and purchases will be on credit and so the profit and loss alone will not confirm viability.
